Carlo Acutis: Holiness for the Third Millenium
Authors: De Prevaux, Ruosso
Carlo Acutis was a typical boy growing up in Milan, Italy, enjoying video games, soccer, and time with friends. Yet, unlike many his age, he also had a deep devotion to attending Mass and a profound empathy for those around him, including the impoverished, the grieving, and even stray animals.
A natural with computers, Carlo's self-taught skills were employed in service to the Church and to spread his Christian faith. He developed websites for local parishes and curated an online exhibition highlighting Eucharistic miracles worldwide.
Tragically, at just fifteen years old, Carlo was diagnosed with a severe form of leukemia and passed away a mere week later on October 12, 2006. In 2018, a miraculous event was attributed to his intercession, leading to his beatification by Pope Francis in 2020. Carlo Acutis has since become a beacon of faith, hope, and love, particularly inspiring young people around the globe.
